It was
Lights Out, at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on NAPA night May 12 2012, after
two features were run.
Just after the Young Gun feature and before the
Brougher’s Machine Shop Pro Late Model Fastrak Crates Olson Industries Sizzler
Special a problem arose with the lights in turns three and four, and after an hour delay, it was determined that the
problem could not be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. So the remainder of
the show was cancelled and grandstand and pit rain checks will be good for next
week and the remainder of the season. The Brougher’s Machine Shop Pro Late Model Fastrak Crates Olson Industries
Sizzler Special will be added to next week’s show.
In the two features that were run, in the Imperial
Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns, Carnegie PA’s Logan Crewl picked up his
first win of the season and broke Todd Weldon’s three race win streak. Weldon was a close second, followed by Peter
Block, Christian Schneider, Courtney Chaimberlain, Bernie Blair Jr., and Adam
Carson. Christian Schneider picked up
the K&N Performer Award.
In the Wacky Wheels Figure 8 Feature, Imperial PA’s Kurt Halbedl won his first
of the year over Jake Simmons, Ian Tomei, Josh Langer, Sam McGervey, and Joe
Podolinsky.
Heats
for the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models went to Alex Ferree
and Tony Musolino.
TheBrougher’s Machine Shop Pro Late Model Fastrak Crates had Joe Martin,
Mike Pegher, Jr., and Steve Beatty picking up the heat wins.
Also in the Sunoco Race Fuels Sportsman Late Models, Pat
Weldon won the heat and in the Miley BP Car Wash Hobby Stocks Tyler Fox grabbed
the win.
Upcoming at PPMS on May 19th, is FREE
admission to all WV/OH residents and a complete regular show. Just show your
WV/OH ID and be admitted to the Grand Stands for FREE! The raindate for this
special is August 25th. On May 25 the BRP Big Block Modifieds will
be on hand for Modisaurus X Three Headed Monster Series. There will be no Super Lates on hand this
night. Regular shows consist of Super
Late Models, Fastrak Pro Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, and
Young Guns. Effective for the remainder of the season, in the event of any
Saturday rainout the management will utilize a Sunday evening raindate. Times
for the Sunday evening will start 1 hour earlier, with Gates opening at 4:00PM,
Hot Laps at 5:00PM, and Racing at 6:00PM.
