Mother Nature's Direct Hit Wipes Out Saturday Race Program at PPMS

PITTSBURGH, PA (8-20-05) - Mother Nature had a "bulls eye" painted directly over Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway as a swiftly moving line of severe thunderstorms impacted the  Pittsburgh area late Saturday afternoon.  Right on target, the torrential rain, high wind, and wicked lightening suddenly struck the Speedway shortly after the gates opened, forcing Miley Motorsports to cancel the August 20 racing program.  Rainchecks will be honored for use at any remaining events on the Speedway calendar up to, but not including, the Lucas Oil sanctioned 17th Annual Pittsburgher Weekend event taking place September 16-18.

Racing for the Napa Late Models, Advance Auto Parts Limited Late Models, Isiminger's Pennzoil Pure Stocks and Amateur Stocks on Dirt's Monster Half Mile will get back underway Saturday August 27 at 7:00pm.  For more information about the racing programs at PPMS, you can call the Pittsburgh Business Office at 412-279-7223, or visit our web site at www.ppms.com.
