PITTSBURGH, PA (April 12) – Area race fans will
be forced to wait a little longer for the 2007 season to get underway at
Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway as the opener has been postponed
for the second straight week due to the unseasonably cold wet weather still
lingering in the Pittsburgh area. Already saturated grounds coupled with
a dismal forecast for Saturday predicting more rain and evening temperatures
near the freezing mark prompted Miley Motorsports to make an early decision
regarding the April 14 opener at Dirt's Monster Half Mile which was
rescheduled from the week before. Hopefully the third time will be the
charm on Saturday, April 21 when the six division race program consisting of
Late Models, Crate Late Models, E-modifieds, Pure Stocks, Amateur Stocks and
4-cylinder Young Guns takes the green flag at 7:00 pm sharp to get the new
season officially underway. Lincoln Welders NASCAR poster schedules will
be handed out to race fans while supplies last.
Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway is
located just off of the Noblestown Exit of Route 22 West and for more
information about the track you can visit the track web site at
www.motordrome.com or you can call
the track office at 412-279-RACE.
