PITTSBURGH'S PENNSYLVANIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 29, 2007
Weather Prompts Early Cancellation of April 28
Racing Program at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway
IMPERIAL, PA (April 28) – With an unfavorable forecast predicting showers
throughout the region, the management of PPMS cancelled the
scheduled 6-division racing program for April 28, 2007. This decision was
made early in an attempt to save race teams the labor and transportation costs
of making a trip to Imperial, PA to battle the elements of nature.
The high cost of fuel has raised the expenses for race teams to a new level.
Race car haulers come from PA, WV, and OH, every week to race at PPMS, and if
it rains they go back home without a paycheck. By making those
tough decisions EARLY on Saturdays when weather is an issue, Miley Motorsports
can spare the race teams the expense of traveling and save the devoted fans a
trip to the Speedway.
The action will resume next Saturday, May 5, at 7:00pm, with a complete
program of heat and feature events for the HTMA Super Late Models, Brougher’s
Machine Shop Crate Late Models, Miley Truck Rental E- Modifieds, Sunoco Race
Fuels Pure Stocks, Old Allegheny Shoppe Amateur Stocks, and Imperial Heights
Garage Young Guns.
