IMPERIAL, PA... .After four consecutive weeks of racing Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway suffered its first rain out Saturday, May 2"d The Late Models, Zoresco Limited Late Models, M. Stahl Modifieds and Spectator Stocks return to action Saturday, May 9th with regular racing. Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm.
Coming May 16-17 is our first doubleheader weekend of the season. All four weekly divisions will be in action Saturday night, May 16th with a regular program. Sunday, May 17th the HAV-A-TAMPA Dirt Racing Series makes its first appearance at PPMS for a 100-lap, $10,000 to win special for the Late Models. The M. Stahl E-Mods will also be in action on the ~ 7th Gates will open at I 2p with practice at 2pm and time trials and racing to follow.
Mark Banal currently leads the Late Model point standing with Lynn Geisler second, Davey Johnson third, Ed Ferree fourth and Doug Dodd fifth. Banal, Geisler, Johnson and Ferree each have a feature win.
The Zoresco Limited Late Model points race has opening night winner Dave Wade leading the way by a slim five points over "Pittsburgh" Pete Loria. Mark Moats, Kirk Young and Alex Ferree are third through fifth respectively.
Two time winner Logan Dernoshek heads the M. Stahl Modified point standings with Wayne Tessean second and three time defending track champion Larry Kugel third. Fourth is Bootie Petsko, and Darrin Miller fifth.
Len Dobrosielski vaulted into the Spectator Stock points lead after edging Ralph Hysong Jr. for the feature win last race night. Hysong, the defending champion, is second with Joe Vacca third, Al Atallah fourth and Rick Heim fifth.
