Rain Takes May 19 Late Model Main Before Halfway, Remainder of Program Postponed
PITTSBURGH, PA (May 19) - Rain hit at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway during the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic Late Model feature on lap 11 with Cranberry Twp., PA’s Lynn Geisler in command. Since the heats were run it was a complete show and rain checks will not be honored. Due to Twin 20’s for the Lates next week, the remainder of the race will be run on another date. It will be announced when the other features will be made up.
Geisler took the lead at the outset of the 25 lap main with newcomer Chad Ruhlman running second. On lap 11, Mike Johnson slowed and brought out the yellow, and while the field was being lined up, the rains hit and the race was postponed. When the race restarts Geisler will be up front with Ruhlman, Jared Miley, Mike Davis, D.J. Miller, and Brandon Burgoon, last week’s winner Steve Baker, Keith Rodriquez, Jeff Jones, and Tom Beck behind. Twenty cars were on hand. Geisler and Ruhlman won the heats. Lou Bradich III was driving his fathers car, as Louie was on vacation. Keith Barbara was running 2nd in his heat when his motor let go.
In other action, in the Brougher’s Machine Shop Crate Late Models, Leo Stadelman and Daryl Charlier picked up the heat wins. J.E. Stalder won the Miley Truck Rental E-Mod heat, while Joe Anthony took the Sunoco Race Fuels Pure Stock heat. The Old Allegany Shoppe Amateur Stock heat fell to popular Davy Lee.
