IMPERIAL, PA .Rain showers forced the postponement of Saturday's racing program at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. "Dirt's Monster Half Mile" will swing back into action Saturday, May 29th, with Twin 20's for the Late Models and the Bob White Memorial for the Schneider Truck Spectator Stocks on tap. White, a long time pit crew member and former racer, was killed in a garage accident over the winter. He was the father of Stacie White and brother of Willie White, both current PPMS competitors. The Limited Late Models and M. Stahl E-Mods will also be on the card. Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. For more information, call (724)853-RACE or (412)279-RACE. Fans can also visit our Internet site at www.ppms.com.
Points leader Mark Banal and John Flinner split the last Late Model Twin 20's on April 24th. Both have won twice in the early season. The defending track champion, Banal, holds a 17 point advantage over Lou Bradich with Flinner a close third.
Limited Late Model rookie Len Dobrosielski heads the point standings with last year's champion, Dave Wade, nine markers behind. Fellow rookie Rick Heim, who won the season opener, is third.
In the M. Stahl E-Mods, reigning champion Wayne Tessean has motored to a pair of wins and a slim two point lead over perennial hot shoe Larry Kugel with Jim Dandy Jr. riding in the third slot.
Two time winner Al Atallah holds a three point advantage over Frank Schneider Jr. in the Schneider Truck Spectator Stocks. Charlie DiLoreto, who recently collected his first career win, holds third place in the standings by just one over Neal Isiminger.
Looking farther ahead, along with the four weekly divisions, the Amateur Strictly Stocks will make their debut at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 5th. The following week, June 12th, the All Star Sprint cars join the fun for the annual Western Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek. This is the only appearance of the Sprint cars at PPMS this season.
