IMPERIAL, PA... Ed Ferree of Saxonburg visited victory lane for the second time this season by winning the Late Model Feature Saturday at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Pittsburgh's Kirk Young collected his first career win in the Zoresco Limited Late Models, and the same was true of Carnegie's Al Atallah in the Spectator Stocks. For Larry Kugel of East Liverpool, OH it was win number four in the M. Stahl Modifieds. Late Model points leader Mark Banal set the pace for the first four laps of the 25-lap Late Model feature before he was unseated from the top spot by Ferree. Meantime, twelfth starter Steve Baker was marching toward the front. Baker, who had already moved to third on lap three, passed Banal for second on lap 11 and set his sights on Ferree. Baker started to pressure Ferree with five laps to go, but Ferree made the right moves through lapped traffic to claim his 16th career PPMS win. Baker, Banal, Ricky Thomas and Ben Miley completed the top five. Bill Knepper, Rich Wachter, Jim Zarin, Jim Lepro and Paul Wilmoth completed the top ten. Wachter, Thomas and Ferree won the heat races. Wilmoth was the Monarch OilIWoIf's Head Hard Charger.

The Zoresco Limited Late Model 20-lap feature was caution-filled early on with most of the field involved in at least one of the many incidents. Kirk Young, who started last, kept his nose clean and quickly moved to second, battling rookie John Pavlick for the lead. Pavlick kept the top spot until lap 19 when Young made his winning pass as they took the white flag. Pavlick finished a career best second. Duane Popham was third, Pete Loria fourth and Mike Cecere fifth. Six through ten were: Wayne Gaither, Garry Sisson, Jim Bryce, Chuck Mowry and Caroline Ferree. Cecere and Loria won the heats, and Young was the Monarch Oil/Wolf's Head Hard Charger.

There was no denying Larry Kugel in the M. Stahl Modified 15-lap feature. After starting twelfth, Kugel rocketed to second by lap four and passed Russ Matejka on a restart one lap later. Chasing Kugel to the finish were Logan Derhoshek in second, Wayne Tessean third, Darrin Miller fourth and Matejka fifth. Bootie Petsko was sixth, Stush Sadawski seventh, Mark Auberzinski eighth, Kari Petrosky ninth and John Myrgo tenth. Monarch Oil/Wolf's Head Hard Charger Kugel and Tessean won the preliminaries.

Ralph Hysong Jr. led the first three circuits in the Spectator Stock feature before Al Atallah took the upper hand. Hysong continued to pressure Atallah lap after lap on the inside, but Atallah was up to the challenge and won by a car length. Frankie Schneider was third, Rick Heim fourth and Doug Foster fifth. Stacie White, Brian LeJeune, Adam Stasko and Len Dobrosielski rounded out the top ten. Monarch Oil/Wolf's Head Hard Charger Schneider and Dobrosielski won the heat races.

This Saturday, May 30th, regular racing continues for the Late Models, Zoresco Limited Late Models, M. Stahl Modifieds and Spectator Stocks. It will be slingshot night with prizes being launched into the grandstands throughout the evening. Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm.
