Full Write Up Results For 4.27.24 RUSH Mods + Action Event

Imperial, PA (4.28.24) For Immediate Release

As April exits the calendar, Mother Nature was finally kind to drivers and fans alike on Saturday night at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile when the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds would headline a six-division Action Event on a beautiful spring evening. PPMS would see nine heat races and six feature events.

Kole Holden (2), from Tiona, would jump out to the early lead in the RUSH Sportsman Modified feature to bring home another win. Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing, would pick up another win in the Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature, while Cody Koteles (1K), from Stockdale, would dominate the Pittsburgh Trucking Center Pro Stock feature and pick up another win. Logan Koteles (64K), also from Stockdale, would notch another win as he also dominated his Fuel Required Hobby Stock feature, while Tyler Hollister (69), from McDonald, won the Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinder feature, and Gavin Kokolis (91), from Oakdale, made it two wins in a row as he won the All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns feature.

In the RUSH Sportsman Modified feature, Jacob Jordan (28J), from Aliquippa, would start on the pole. JC Boyer (12), from Brookfield, Ohio, would start on the outside in second, while Holden (2) would start third, and Chelsie Gallagher (10), from Ellwood City, would complete the top two starting rows. At the start of the event, Holden (2) would go from third to first by the exit of turn four with Boyer (12) following him into second and Aiden Cipriano (5C) in third. By lap five, Holden (2) already had built a 1.4-second advantage over the field. Cipriano (5C) would take over second on lap six as Holden (2) still led the field. Cipriano (5C) would close the gap on Holden (2) but it wasn’t enough as Holden (2) would lead all laps of the event which went green to checkered in record fashion. Cipriano (5C) would finish second, Boyer (12) third, Gallagher (10) fourth, and Jordan (28J) would round out the top five. The heat race winner was JC Boyer (12).

19 Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Models were signed in on Saturday night and after their two heat races and the redraw, they were ready to battle it out in their 20-lap feature event. Ben Policz (14B) would be the pole sitter with Frank Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills to his outside and starting second. Daryl Charlier (42), from Midway, would start third, and Dan Lepro (2L), also from Midway, would start fourth and complete the top two starting rows. When the green flag dropped for the first of their 20 laps, Magill (05), Policz (14B), and Charlier (42) would have a three-way battle for the lead. By the end of lap two, Magill (05) was leading the field at the line with Charlier (42) in second and Policz (14B) in third. At the halfway point, Magill (05) was still leading the charge with Policz (14B) now in second, and Charlier (42) in third. With only a few laps remaining in the event, Magill (05) had car trouble and was forced to pit which gave the lead to Policz (14B). Policz (14B) would lead the remaining laps of the event, en route to his first Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model win of the season. He was followed by Charlier (42) in second, Zach Gunn (17G) in third, Jake Gunn (14G) in fourth, and Brian Huchko (60H) completed the top five. The heat race winners were Ben Policz (14B) and Zach Gunn (17G).

In the 15-lap Pittsburgh Trucking Center Pro Stock feature, Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Pleasant Hills, would start on the pole while AJ Poljak (36), from Baldwin, would start to his outside in second. Cody Koteles (1K), would start in third, and Tony Magill (M5), from Jefferson Hills, would complete the top two starting rows. When the green flag waved, C. Koteles (1K) would take off with the early lead as Poljak (36) followed him into second, and Shelpman (17S) was third. Shelpman (17S) would take over second on lap four which forced Poljak (36) back to third, as C. Koteles (1K) continued to lead the event. By lap five, C. Koteles (1K) already had a half of a straight-away lead over the field but on lap eight, the event’s first caution would slow the pace and re-rack the field. C. Koteles (1K) would choose the inside on the restart with Shelpman (17S) to his outside and he would retain his lead when green replaced yellow. Despite a lap 14 caution and two-lap shootout, C Koteles (1K) would dominate the event to pick up another Pittsburgh Trucking Center Pro Stock win. He was followed by Shelpman (17S) in second, Daryl Charlier (74) in third, Poljak (36) in fourth, and T. Magill (M5) would round out the top five. The heat race winners were Brent McDonald (25M) and Nick Kocuba (10).

Jonathan Koteles (2K), from Stockdale, would start on the pole in the Fuel Required Hobby Stock 15-lap feature. Leroy Brown (40B), from Aliquippa, would start to his outside in second. Logan Koteles (64K) would start in third, and Gary Koteles (65K) would start in fourth. When the green light turned on at the start of the event, they would go three-wide into turn one as they would battle for the lead. L Koteles (64K) would have the lead by lap two with J. Koteles (2K) in second, and Tyler Fox (39F) in third. Lap three would see the event’s first caution for debris on the track. L Koteles (64K) would choose the outside on the restart but the field wouldn’t complete a lap before the caution was out again and a complete restart would ensue. L. Koteles (64K) would keep his lead over the field when green replaced yellow while G. Koteles (65K) was now in second and last week’s winner, Garrett O’Patchen (25) was now in third. By lap seven, L Koteles (64K) had a half of a straight-away lead over the field, and by lap eight, he had extended it to almost a full straight away. L. Koteles (64K) would dominate the event, lead all laps, and pick up another Fuel Required Hobby Stock win. He was followed by O’Patchen (25) in second, G. Koteles (65K) in third, Joe Brown (74) in fourth, and Tyler Fox (39F) would complete the top five. The heat race winners were Garrett O’Patchen (25), and Logan Koteles (64K).

In the Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinder 12-lap feature, Tyler Hollister (69) would start on the pole. Starting to his outside and in second was Ray Seibert (40). The second row consisted of Derek Quigley (65Q) starting in third, and Jacob Chipps (38) starting in fourth. When the green flag dropped, T. Hollister (69) would take the early lead with Chipps (38) in second, and Seibert (40) in third. With the race going green to checkered in record fashion, T. Hollister (69) would dominate the event and pick up his first Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinder win of the season. He was followed by Chipps (38) in second, Seibert (40) in third, John Gill (19G) in fourth, and Susie Rudolph (55) would complete the top five. The heat race winner was Chipps (38).

Last but not least was the All Ways Safe Young Guns feature and Evan Strouse (54) would be the pole-sitter. Hunter Vohn (124) would start to his outside in second while AJ Manganello (50) would start in third, and Gavin Kokolis (91) would start in fourth. When the green flag waved at the start of the event, Manganello (50) would take the early lead. Lap three had Manganello (50) still leading the field with Vohn (124) in second, and Anthony Uddstrome (18) was in third. On lap five, Manganello (50) had car trouble and was forced to pit which allowed Kokolis (91) to take over the lead. Kokolis (91) would lead the remaining five laps in the event and go on to pick up his second All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns win in a row. He was followed by Manganello (50) in second, Vohn (124) in third, Zoey Knight (78Z) in fourth, and Nathan Olenik (99) would round out the top five. The heat race winner was Manganello (50).
