Racing Canceled for Saturday, Easter Fun Set for Sunday
IMPERIAL, PA – Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (PPMS) has officially canceled the racing event scheduled for Saturday, April 12, due to saturated grounds and below-average temperatures. Track conditions are unsuitable for competition, prompting the delay of the speedway’s 47th regular season opener.
Despite the cancellation, the Free 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt will continue as scheduled on Sunday, April 13. Families are encouraged to join the fun, with activities beginning at 12:00 PM and the egg hunts starting at 1:00 PM. The event is open to the public and welcomes participants of all ages.
The Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint Cars, originally set to return this weekend, will now shift their focus to Thursday, May 29, as part of Western PA Sprint Speedweek. That evening will be headlined by the 410 Sprint Cars, which drew 39 competitors in 2024 from seven states and three countries.
PPMS will now kick off its 2025 season on Saturday, April 19, with the highly anticipated Herb Scott Memorial featuring the RUSH Late Model Touring Series. The 2024 edition of this race was one of the most thrilling events of the season, and anticipation is high as both PPMS and the RUSH Series launch their respective campaigns.
