Schneider Dominates with Twin 20 Sweep at the Hindsight Hustle - Full Write Up Results For 8-30-25
August wrapped up at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile with the kind of show fans live for, the Hindsight Hustle presented by 20/20 Landscaping and Tree Service. The night kicked off with qualifying, six heats, and five features, but the spotlight belonged to one man. Christian Schneider (56) out of Pittsburgh didn’t just take one Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature… he swept both twin 20s. The crowd roared as the checkered flag fell twice in his favor, making it clear who owned the night.
Over in the Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stocks, Baldwin’s AJ Poljak (36) kept his hot streak alive with his eighth win of the season. The Auto House Hobby Stocks saw Jefferson Hills’ Tom Anton (64) claw his way to victory lane for the second time this year, while Burgettstown’s John Gill (19G) brought the fans to their feet by grabbing top honors in the Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders.
It was wall-to-wall action, fireworks on and off the track, and the perfect way to close out the month of August at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.
Qualifying set the stage, and it was Zach Gunn (17G) of McDonald who lit up the clocks with a blistering 19.549. He backed it up with a heat race win that put him on the pole for the first Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature. But sitting to his outside was the hungry Christian Schneider (56), and the second the green dropped, the tone was set.
Schneider wasted no time as he rocketed to the front while Gunn slid into second and Tommy Schirnhofer (8S) held third. By lap five, Schneider had already built a half-straightaway cushion. Three laps later, that lead stretched to a full straightaway as he sliced through clean air. The only thing left to slow him down was lapped traffic, which showed up on lap nine, but it didn’t matter. Schneider was locked in, clicking off laps like clockwork.
With the race running green to checkered without a single hiccup, Schneider cruised to victory in dominant fashion. Mike Reft (9R) clawed his way into second, Z. Gunn (17G) held on for third, Schirnhofer (8S) stayed consistent for fourth, and Jake Gunn (14G) rounded out the top five.
Victory lane had one more twist in store. Schneider spun the wheel to set his starting spot for feature number two and the crowd roared when it stopped on zero. That meant he’d be starting right back on the pole, staring down a chance to sweep the night.
Feature number two lined up with Christian Schneider (56) on the pole again, thanks to that zero spin, and Mike Reft (9R) to his outside. When the green dropped, Schneider once again put his foot down first. Reft settled into second, and Jake Gunn (17G) tucked into third.
By lap five, it was déjà vu. Schneider already had half a straightaway on the field. Lapped traffic came into play by lap eight, giving Reft a small window to close the gap. For a moment it looked like the battle might tighten, but Schneider was flawless. Lap after lap he stayed glued to the groove, and the checkered flag waved over him once again.
Behind him, J. Gunn (14G) made his way up to second, with Reft crossing in third. Z. Gunn (17G) brought home fourth, and Kyle Lukon (184) rounded out the top five. Heat race wins earlier in the night had gone to Zach Gunn (17G) and Schneider himself, making his sweep even sweeter.
The crowd had just watched a statement night. Two features, two checkered flags, and one driver leaving no doubt about who owned the Hindsight Hustle.
The Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stocks lined up for 15 laps with Nick Kocuba (10) on the pole and Dale Tuche (310) from Cheswick to his outside. But when the green flag waved, it was third-place starter AJ Poljak (36) who blasted to the front and set the tone early.
By lap four, Poljak was still leading the pack with Stephen Shelpman (17S) chasing in second, Kocuba in third, and Tuche in fourth. The race stayed clean until lap 12 when Bill Slade (A22) spun in turn two, bringing out the caution. On the restart Poljak chose the inside, and once the green flew again he pulled away without hesitation.
Three more smooth laps and it was official. Poljak claimed his eighth win of the season in commanding fashion. Kocuba crossed second, Tuche third, Shelpman fourth, and Slade rallied to round out the top five. Poljak also added a heat race win to his tally earlier in the night, putting an exclamation point on a dominant performance.
The Auto House Hobby Stock 15-lapper came to life with Tom Anton (64) on the pole and Garrett O’Patchen (25) to his outside. The pair wasted no time putting on a show, swapping the lead back and forth in the opening laps before Anton finally pulled ahead on lap four. O’Patchen tucked into second with Kyle Janas (88) holding third, but a caution slowed the pace and set up a restart.
Anton chose the inside lane, and when the green returned the battle reignited. Side by side, Anton and O’Patchen traded blows for several laps until Anton dug in, took control, and never looked back. He led the rest of the way to capture his second win of the season.
O’Patchen crossed the line in second, Janas brought home third, Logan Koteles (56) finished fourth, and Joe Brown Jr (48) rounded out the top five. O’Patchen had already grabbed a heat race win earlier in the night, but it was Anton who owned the feature when the checkers flew.
The night wrapped up with the Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders, and it was Jeremy Deglau (30) of Derry on the pole with John Gill (19G) starting to his outside. When the green flag dropped Gill wasted no time and snagged the early lead.
Lap two brought the biggest scare of the race as Deglau got caught up and the red flag flew. He was okay, and once the track was cleared Gill lined up on the outside for the restart with Hunter Vohn (124) to his inside. When the green waved again Gill powered away and never looked back.
He led the rest of the distance and claimed the feature win, followed by David Seibert Jr (777) in second, Vohn in third, Tyler Hollister (69) in fourth, and Chris Myers (830) rounding out the top five. Earlier in the night, Cameron Hollister (44) scored the heat race victory.
