Shelpman Stays Perfect in Triple Crown, Seibert Joins Victory Lane for the First Time - FULL WRITE UP RESULTS FOR 9-13-25
The stage was set for the 5th Annual Josh Langer Memorial for the Auto House Hobby Stocks, also serving as the finale of the Stephen W. Johnson Triple Crown. Fans got a full show with qualifying, a six-lap dash, six heats, a 4-wide salute with fireworks, and five feature events packed with high stakes and big moments.
Stephen Shelpman (17P) of Pleasant Hills stole the spotlight, dominating the Memorial and sweeping all three rounds of the Triple Crown. Mike Reft (9R) of Pittsburgh claimed victory in the Rohrich Automotive/Chevrolet Performance RUSH Late Models, while AJ Poljak (36) of Baldwin notched his ninth win of the year in the Pittsburgh Truck Center Penn Ohio Pro Stocks.
The night also delivered a breakthrough moment. David Seibert Jr. (777) celebrated his first career win in the Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders, while Evan Strouse (54) of Lower Burrell added another victory in the Kehm Oil Young Guns feature.
Shelpman (17P) set the pace early, topping qualifying for the Memorial with a quick time of 24.079. After heats and a redraw, Tom Anton (64) landed the pole with Danny Rich (221K) starting second.
When the green dropped for the dash, Shelpman launched from fourth and made a daring move through turns three and four to snatch the lead. That run sealed the dash win and locked him onto the pole for the feature.
Shelpman grabbed the early jump as Anton and Garrett O’Patchen (25) battled side by side for second. An early caution slowed the field, but Shelpman stayed cool and held control.
Another yellow on lap four stacked the pack again, yet Shelpman never wavered. By lap eight he had stretched his lead to half a straightaway and was pulling further away with every lap.
There was no stopping him as Shelpman led flag to flag to capture the Memorial and Triple Crown title. He was chased to the line by Marc Corio (14) in second, O’Patchen in third, Chloie Jones (76) in fourth, and Rich in fifth, with heats going to Shelpman and Corio.
The RUSH Late Model feature brought 15 cars to the track with Brodie Oravetz (91) of Oakdale on the pole and Clinton Hersh (16) of Somerset to his outside. Philip Bubeck (4) of Colliers, WV and Kyle Lukon (184) of Burgettstown filled row two.
Oravetz jumped out front with Reft sliding into second and Zach Gunn (17G) climbing into third by lap three. A caution on lap five bunched the field, and the pressure began to build.
Another yellow flew on lap six and Oravetz tried to hold firm on the inside. By lap eight the door opened, and Reft slipped past to take command just before another caution froze the field.
The cautions kept coming, but Reft refused to crack. Burgoon made it interesting on lap 13 by briefly stealing the lead, but Reft fired right back to reclaim the spot.
Once in clean air, Reft shut the door and drove off to seal the RUSH Late Model feature win. He was trailed by Burgoon in second, Lukon in third, Daryl Charlier (42) in fourth, and Tommy Schirnhoffer (8S) in fifth, with heats to Reft and Bubeck.
The Pro Stock feature rolled off with Cody Koteles (1K) of Stockdale on the pole and Poljak to his outside. Charlier (74) of Midway and Steigerwald (00) of Moon filled out row two after Nick Kocuba (10) scratched as a DNS.
The first green was waved off, forcing a full restart, but on the second try Koteles jumped to the front. Poljak stalked him high while Koteles clung to the bottom.
By lap four Poljak found the bite he needed and powered into the lead. From there it was all Poljak, stretching away to score his ninth Pro Stock win of the season.
Charlier crossed second, Koteles finished third, Steigerwald fourth, and Dale Tuche (310) rounded out the top five. The heat went to Poljak.
The Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinder feature lined up with Tyler Hollister (69) of Bulger on the pole and his brother Cameron Hollister (44) outside. Seibert (777) and Dale Grubbs Jr. (66) filled row two.
Seibert wasted no time blasting to the lead with Tyler Hollister in pursuit and John Gill (19G) settling into third. The race went green to checkers without a hitch, keeping fans on edge as the laps ticked away.
When the dust settled, Seibert scored his first career Four Cylinder feature win at PPMS. He was trailed by T. Hollister in second, Gill in third, C. Hollister in fourth, and Grubbs in fifth, with Seibert also taking the heat.
The Kehm Oil Young Guns 10-lap feature wrapped up the night with Evan Strouse (54) on the pole and Kane Zupancic (11) of Collier outside. Strouse wasted no time and shot out to the front.
He led every lap and never let Zupancic get close, locking down another Young Guns win. Zupancic crossed second to complete the two-car field.
Dirt’s Monster Half Mile roars back to life on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 with the return of the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Sprint Cars for their final stop of the year. These are the fastest dirt race cars on the planet, ripping around the track at over 140 mph.
They’ll be joined by the RUSH Late Models, Penn Ohio Pro Stocks, Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinders, and Kehm Oil Young Guns. Fans also get a bonus with the Auto House Hobby Stocks running a non-points special.
This is the last chance to see the 410s light up Dirt’s Monster Half Mile in 2025. Expect speed, chaos, and a Saturday night no fan will want to miss.
