The thunder rolled early at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile as the 2025 Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants Western PA Speedweek presented by J.S. Bova Excavating stormed into town, unleashing raw horsepower, flying clay, and open-wheel fury that shook the grandstands before the first green flag even flew.
When the smoke cleared, Brandon Spithaler (32B), from Butler, claimed the $3,500 victory in the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Sprint Car main, while Timmy Bittner (01), from Beech Creek, dominated wire to wire to win the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint feature.
Night one got washed out. But night two? That was the storm.
The Falconi's Moon Township Automotive 410 Sprint Cars came loaded with fire in their pipes and 150 MPH fury in their veins. When the green flag dropped, Speedweek exploded to life and the Monster Half Mile shook to its core.
And just when fans thought they could catch their breath, the Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprints dropped the hammer. High speed. Wheel to wheel. No let-up. Just relentless, edge-of-your-seat mayhem from flag to flag.
The Allegheny Sprint Tour 305s ran a little wild with a twist Two heat races, and the second was a full-field invert. If you wanted a front row seat, you had to earn it the hard way.
Timmy Bittner (01) didn’t flinch. He pulled the P1 pill and never gave it back.
The Beech Creek wheelman lined up on the pole for the 15-lap feature and laid down a clinic.
When the green dropped, he dropped the hammer, leaving the rest of the field digging for answers.
Jim Pattock (42) tried to keep him honest in second, but Bittner was locked in. Clean air. Clear track. No mistakes.
Fifteen flawless laps. Zero cautions. One dominant drive.
At the line, it was Bittner first, wire to wire. Pattock second. Kruz Kepner (19) third. Jeremy Kornbau (27K) fourth. Jacob Gomola (4J) fifth. Jarrett Cavalet (21C) closed out the six-car field.
Pattock and Gomola snagged the heat race wins but the feature was all Bittner.
Three heats.a b main, and 27 of the baddest 410 Sprint Cars in the region. Only 24 spots up for grabs and $3,500 waiting at the end of the line.
Ryan Smith (6D), from Fleetwood, kicked off the night by throwing down a blistering 17.368 to win the $200 Knox Bakery Quick Time Award.
The top three from each heat locked into the Rod Squad Fishing Charters redraw, where Mark Smith (M1), out of Sunbury, pulled P1 and parked it on the pole for the 25-lap showdown. Jeremy Weaver (5), from Stoneboro, lined up to his outside, with Brandon Spithaler (32B) and Steven Snyder Jr. (27H) filling out row two.
But chaos struck before the field could settle.
As the green flag dropped, Smith (M1) hammered the cushion a little too hard, tagged the outside wall, and launched into the fence—bringing out the red. Thankfully, he walked away. His car didn’t.
On the restart, Weaver (5) inherited the pole and grabbed the early lead. Spithaler (32B) gave chase, with Michael Bauer (46), from Eighty Four, sliding into third.
For nine laps, Weaver held point.
But on lap 10, Spithaler found daylight, slipped by, and never gave it back.
The two carved through lapped traffic like pros, putting on a masterclass of speed and control. No cautions. No breathing room. Just raw, full-send Sprint Car racing at its best.
At the checkers, Spithaler (32B) crossed first for the Speedweek win. Weaver (5) hung on for second, Matt Farnham (7NY) ran third, Carl Bowser (11) charged to fourth, and Bauer (46) rounded out the top five.
Heat race wins went to Farnham (7NY), Ryan Smith (6D), and Spithaler (32B).
Carl Bowser (11) earned the Rustler Sales & Service Hard Charger Award after ripping through nine positions.
