Norris Completes the Trifecta and Flick Goes Back-to-Back at the POG 2026
Imperial, PA - March 2026
The Pot of Gold 2026 is in the history books. PPMS saw qualifying, eight heat races, and three feature events.
Michael Norris (N1), from Sarver, won his third Pot of Gold in a row, and set a new track record with a qualifying time of 16.454.
AJ Flick (2), from Apollo, made it two in a row by winning the 2026 FAST on Dirt Falconi’s Moon Township 410 Winged Sprint Car Feature, while Stephen Shelpman (17P), from Bethel Park, won the Millerstown Pic A Part Crown Vic feature.
After Michael Norris set the new track record in qualifying, he started on the outside of the front row alongside Alex Ferree (1C), from Saxonburg, and Jon Lee (5L), from Summerville, and Kyle Lukon (184), from Burgettstown, made up row two.
Ferree jumped out to the early lead, but trouble struck on lap seven, allowing Norris to slip into the top spot.
A caution followed shortly after, Norris controlled the restart and began pulling away from the field.
Despite the lone caution, Norris led from lap seven in dominating fashion.
Ferree (1C) finished second, Colton Flinner (48) third, Jake Gunn (14G) fourth, and Jared Miley (10) rounded out the top five.
The heat race winners were Norris, Flinner, and Miley.
In the FAST on Dirt Falconi’s Moon Township 410 Winged Sprint Car Feature, Brandon Spithaler (22), from Butler, started on the pole with AJ Flick (2) to his outside.
Flick jumped out to the early lead before a lap one caution flew for Tyler Esh (19) with mechanical trouble.
On the restart, Flick stayed in control and began clicking off lap after lap..
He found his rhythm until another caution with eight laps remaining reset the field.
Flick led the restart with Spithaler in second, maintaining close proximity to the leader..
It didn’t matter. Flick stayed in command and drove to his second straight FAST on Dirt Falconi’s Moon Township 410 Winged Sprint Car Feature win.
Dylan Norris (11P) finished second, Tim Shaffer (01) third, Spithaler fourth, and Tyler Gunn (68) rounded out the top five.
The heat race winners were Dylan Norris, Brandon Spithaler, and AJ Flick.
Last but not least, the Millerstown Pic A Part Crown Vics, where Travis Vogel (28A), from Meyersdale, started on the pole with Jason Rendell (7FL), from Land O’ Lakes, Florida, to his outside.
Scott Mitchell (20), from Somerset, started third, and Stephen Shelpman (17), from Bethel Park, rolled off fourth.
At the drop of the green, Shelpman jumped out to the early lead and controlled the pace.
A late restart changed everything.
Mitchell surged past Shelpman coming to the white flag, but spun moments later, bringing out a caution and handing the lead back to Shelpman.
Shelpman took advantage and led the final two laps to win the Millerstown Pic A Part Crown Vic Feature.
Ed Vogel (83E) finished second, Jason Rendell (7FL) third, Travis Vogel (28A) fourth, and Mike Bakalon (48) rounded out the top five.
The heat race winners were Stephen Shelpman (17) and Jason Rendell (7FL).
