After five attempts, Mother Nature finally lost, and the 2026 season officially kicked off Saturday night at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile.
PPMS hosted eight heat races and five feature events across its five weekly divisions, setting the tone for the new season.
Tony Musolino (42D), from Pittsburgh, drove to victory in the Rohrich Parts Center Chevrolet Performance RUSH Late Models.
Jackson Humanic (17), from Titusville, captured his first career Kehm Oil Penn Ohio Pro Stock win.
Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Bethel Park, added another Auto House Hobby Stock feature victory to his resume.
Bill Tennant (2), from Colliers, West Virginia, picked up another win in the Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinder Feature.

Clinton Hersh (16), from Somerset, started on the pole for the 20-lap Rohrich Parts Center Chevrolet Performance RUSH Late Model Feature with Tony Musolino (42D), from Pittsburgh, lining up to his outside.
At the drop of the green, Musolino got a strong launch, but Hersh powered ahead to claim the early lead while Musolino settled into second and Zach Gunn (17G) ran third.
The first caution appeared on lap four, and Hersh chose the inside lane for the restart with Musolino alongside.
When racing resumed, Hersh and Musolino battled side-by-side for several laps before Musolino completed the pass and took control of the lead.
Cautions on laps nine and eleven for debris slowed the pace again, but Musolino selected the outside lane on the restart and maintained command once green-flag conditions returned, with Tim Shaffer (45) moving into second and Gunn holding third.
Shaffer applied steady pressure over the closing laps, but Musolino remained in control and drove on to capture the victory.
Shaffer finished second, Gunn third, Hersh fourth, and Brandon Burgoon (5X) rounded out the top five.
The heat race winners were Zach Gunn (17G) and Tony Musolino (42D).
In the 15-lap Penn Ohio Pro Stock Feature, Curt Bish (00), from Franklin, started on the pole with Jackson Humanic (17), from Titusville, alongside in second.
At the drop of the green, Humanic powered to the early lead with Bish settling into second and AJ Poljak (36) running third.
The event moved quickly without interruption, going green to checkered as Humanic maintained control throughout the race.

Tom Anton (64), from Jefferson Hills, started on the pole with Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Bethel Park, alongside in second.
At the start of the race, Shelpman quickly moved to the front, pulling away with the early lead while Marc Corio (14) settled into second and Kyle Janas (88) ran third.
The race’s only caution came on lap 11, but Shelpman maintained control on the restart and continued to pace the field.

When the green flag dropped, Seibert Jr. jumped to the early lead, but Tennant quickly took control on lap one and moved to the front.
The race’s first caution came on lap three when John Gill (19G) slowed with trouble in turn three. Tennant led the field back to green with Noah Bubeck (187) alongside in second.
Bubeck applied heavy pressure throughout the run, but Tennant held his line, led the remaining laps, and drove on to another Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinder victory.
